How long can you go to jail for embezzlement?

Generally, the term of incarceration for an embezzlement conviction in Texas will depend on the value of the money or property that a person allegedly stole. If you are convicted of embezzlement in state court, you could face up to one year in jail for a Class A misdemeanor (value of the property was $750 or more but less than $2,500) or a term of at least five years to life for a felony of the first degree (value was $150,000 or more but less than $300,000).
